Fall

2018 (8th Grade English)
We call ourselves united
When we are still divided
We came from the same seed
Yet we hate the differences that we see

Some of us were born green
Some of us have bloomed
We seem to drown in a sea of grief
Yet we are suspended in the air

Some of us fall earlier than we should
When the wind hits us we wobble and almost let go
We live on different branches
Though we all end up on the same trunk

We never see that we are all connected
We see each other from a far enough distance
We judge what we see
When we don’t know the story

But the time comes, we all fall
The snow starts to fall and as time passes by
We come back and continue where we left off

We call ourselves united
When we are still divided
We came from the same seed
Yet we hate the differences that we see

That is the diversity of our tree.
